Hey guys! Gonna be lifting mine soon. Was wondering what everyone's running for coils, leafs, shocks. I know I need the diff drop an carrier bearing drop. I know that you only need extended brake lines if your flexing all the time. Any input to what else I would need is great!

Most don't use or recommend the diff drop. Depends on height and many other things. You have much reading to do lol. Any idea on what you are doing for a lift?

@jpereira2 ive done a lot of reading. I've had many lifted vechiles in the past, my first Tacoma. I was leaning toward all pro leafs with bilstein shocks an ome coils. I've read that bilstein rear shocks are iffy with all pros leafs. Was just wondering what everyone runs on there's to get ideas.

Why not just do a full OME kit? I love my Dakars even with no weight in the back.

I have bilstein 6112/5160 with dakar leafs.....so far so good. Have the carrier bearing drop, no need for brake lines. It's about 2.5" taller. Been on for 3k miles and still rides smooth. Only thing you may want to do is the ECGS bushing or possibly the TSB for the needle bearing. Mine started going right after the lift but I had toyota do the TSB and fingers crossed hasn't been an issue since.

@KILLINTIME i was thinking about that. What shocks are you running an how much lift did you get out of it?

I would do OME or Bilstien 5100s, OME 885 or 887 coils. And a AAL.

Rides about like stock but takes bumps better. I would say its the cheapest way to do it right.

    Make life easy.

Pick up the phone and call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road

Know your goals for the truck and have a budget in mind. If she recommends something that seems over budget, it just means you need to save up.

Do it once, do it right.

    What Radioactiv said.

Everything you need is on this site you just have to read A LOT of posts. I'll give my 2 cents.

    My Lift on 2011 DCSBTXPro:
Front & Rear 5100's, 885 set @ 0, Top Plate Spacer Kit, Rear Deaver AAL, no carrier drop kit, 1.25in spacers. Staying with stock wheels and 265/75/16 tires for summer & a plain set of TRD 17" wheels/tires for winter.
2.5 inch lift, you don't UCA's from what I read. Seems true I have no issues. About 200 miles so far.
I don't run mud flaps, I don't carry a spare. I don't off road & way smoother on the highway now.

If you choose spacers & I torqued mine to 80ft lbs first then to 90 I also used copper Anti-Seize on lugs. Correct me if I'm wrong with the torque part if others have advice. I did call the company I purchased the spacers from to confirm. The manual says wheel torque is 83ft lbs. I think.

If you have extra weight: Big ass bumpers, towing, caps and so on (read up on that for more details).

Did most of it by myself at my friends shop on a lift. He helped me a few times where you need 3 hands. I would have asked another friend to help me the whole time cause it was a pain alone.

Took it for a spin before alignment, steering wheel was dead on, had a slight pull to the right & nothing fell off. Alignment done and could not be happier with the outcome. I'm at work and all I want to do is go drive my truck.

I purchased kit from Headstrong. Hope that info helps.

    Just a grocery getter
ome lift 887 coils and dakars with aal, get superbumps for front and rear, u-bolt flip kit and extended brake lines, not necessarily needed but in my case i prefer to be safe than sorry when you flex and shit goes sideways

    .
Spent almost 2 years reading threads, reviews and watching installation videos and couldn't be happier with my lift. It didn't have to take that much time but I am serious about mods for my dd. If you want to be able to pre-trip before a ride do your own work and be truly happy and confident with your set up you must do the research. Best wishes and enjoy your new addiction!

Which notch did you go with on your 6112s?

Did you add the d29xl leaf on your
    Dakars?

Any rake from front to rear?

I did a full 3 inch OME kit with a 1 inch body lift for more true clearance. I love it and would totally recommend it. Super soft for wheeling, good height, all around a very good kit!
