Any body have any issues removing the upper control arms on a 2017? Do I need to cut both bolts or just bend the inner fender to remove

Bend the inner fenders back. One or two small things you need to unbolt under the hood to make room for the bolt to come out. Pretty easy job.

Ok I know on my 2016 it was just the driver side but I look at this and it's both sides

Passenger side took some tweaking, driver side was much easier. Probably varies from truck to truck though.

I didn't have the right tool to bend out the fender enough so took a grinder cut both bolts off and put them in the other way

It's so hard to believe Toyota would design this so you have to cut the bolt or bend the fender or remove the fender. On my 4Runners and previous Gen Tacoma's you could change the control arms in 20 minutes. both bolts slid right out excellent excellent design. This is just stupid.

A: Cut heads and reinstall new bolt backwards.

B: Tape off inner fender, dislodge harness, bend fender remove bolt. Reinstall correctly.

I am always conflicted but due to the nature of my work I need to have things installed as Toyota sees fit. So I save the customer money and I reinstall the bolt facing downwards.
