Has anyone done this yet? I am getting ready to put a set of polished stainless steel bed rails on my 2017 Tacoma. I have seen on another thread on what the tops of the bed look like with out the plastic bed rails. I see that there are bed pockets but I am leaning towards a universal kit because I dont want to cut up the plastic caps like that. Im curious to how these can be bolted in after looking underneath the bed. Thoughts? Suggestions?
I haul our bikes to ride on the bike trails and wanted them for extra protection. I use a in bed bike rack and tow straps but had one fall over on a windy day while I was unloading and could have damaged my bed. I like the bed rails anyways as a dress up item. Also getting ready to buy ION Alloy 171 rims and raised letter tires for my truck. I know going black is the latest trend but I like chrome.

Most of the bolt holes are behind the factory cleat rail with a few more near the tailgate. I know Mobtown makes some for the 3rd gen and KB voodoo makes some for the second gen that are similar, you might get some ideals looking at pictures from those.

Checked those websites. What they do is neat but not the direction I am going.
I guess I am more worried about screwing up my truck doing something wrong.
Thanks for the suggestions though. Anything helps.
