    Greetings from upstate NY!

Bought my my first Toyota truck prior to the Tacoma era. It was a used 1989 Pickup 6cyl MT Access Cab. Since then I've owned a 2001 4cyl MT Access Cab and 2012 4cyl MT Access Cab. All of them were superb vehicles.

Last year I decided I needed more horsepower to pull my travel trailer. After hours and hours of reading TW threads about all the problems with the 3rd gen I almost gave up on the Tacoma. I started considering other manufacturers. They seemed to have issues also. Loyalty won out even after I test drove a Tacoma that appeared to have the vibration @2200rpm. I bought a 2016 AT DCLB SR5. I would have preferred the MT, but wouldn't have gotten one from the factory in time for summer camping. After ~15K miles I've seen no signs of the 3rd gen problems and have no regrets with the purchase, although I do miss the MT.20160610_171824.jpg

Nice new ride. I currently have a 1st gen and also had a 93 pre-taco...

I ran the pre-taco until the body looked like Swiss cheese from the salted upstate NY winter roads. I think it had 200K when I sold it to a friend and he ran it a few more years. It finally succumbed to the rust. We never had any major issues with it. Just routine maintenance. Toyota had me hooked with that one.
