I've used that belt you've ordered and didn't like it...too bulky...it's like trying to wrap a cardboard box around you. The leather harbinger double prong belt is my favorite.

Do you know what a plus sign means?

plus sign:ˈpləs ˌsīn/ - noun - the symbol +, indicating addition or a positive value.

This means I shrug with 100 lbs or more. Our gym's dumbbells only go up to 125 lbs, so that's the heaviest I can use. Brb, going to find these:

Shrugs + or - 100 lbs are a waste of time. Get traps from deadlifts, jerk and cleans, t bar row, your Fran workout, etc. ..

Shrugs are 100% aesthetics. No real functional relevance...but there's nothing wrong with that.

Shrugs are a waste of time? I don't think so. Although I do deadlift, t bar row, etc., shrugs are a perfect way to isolate the trap.

    Source: I have big traps

That's like saying doing triceps extensions and skull crushers is a waste of time because you work triceps when you bench press.

I lift for 100% aesthetics, brah

Shrugs are a great grip exercise if you don't use straps, but unfortunately most people use straps.

I don't use straps for anything. Hell, when I finally deadlifted 500, people were more impressed that I did it strapless

I agree though, shrugs are great for grip

That's the only way it should be! Hell, I try to do most of my deadlifts double overhand too. I will try to find his instagram and post it up here, but there is a powerlift who weighs 200 lbs and deadlifts 900+, no straps, double overhand grip. Insane!

Most recent picture of Zach's traps:

I love that Zach's modesty is still as strong as it ever was - like the one time he talked about his problem finding jeans that fit, and then posted a picture of Ronnie Coleman in a gigantic suit, as if he and Ronnie Coleman have comparable issues when it comes to finding clothes...just giving you a hard time big guy...

    All truths

I typically use them for barbell shrugs. I also typically do sets of 15, and my grip just doesn't work for that long.

Holy shit. I suck at double overhand

Brah, me and Ronnie are one in the same. Scratch that....I'm probably a little bigger now that he's getting older.

But srsly, I know I'm not a monster or anything, but I feel like I've got decent traps and I attribute that mostly to shrugs...not exclusively to shrugs, but mostly to shrugs. And for the pants thing, I feel like anyone who actually lifts will encounter that issue eventually. When my waist is a 34, but my thighs don't fit in the 34's, I've got issues. I went up to a 36 and it's 10 times better. I have to wear a belt so my pants don't fall, but at least I've got leg and ball room now.

I'm not really that conceited in real life...it's just a character I play on the internet.
