Soooo, if stickers add horsepower....

....do patches add torque? And how is this measured? Is it the size of the patch, or how rare it is that adds more?

I just need to know which one I should be focusing on because I'm still pretty stock.

 

Oooh, much like the CAI topic, this is highly debatable. We've tried to pin some basic parameters around decals, but I don't think anyone has broached the positive performance addition that patches offer our Tacos. Also, I'm curious what benefits de-badging offer on the performance side of things.

I can confirm that debagging reduces drag on the side panels, and the rear badges no longer interfere with the wind currents on the tailgate.

I have Redline Tuning and Headstrong Offroad stickers, so I'm hoping for at least 2.5% increase in off road HP, but I'm wondering if I need to order a few more patches before hitting the fire service roads.

 

Don't quote me, but I believe Headstrong Off-road decals improve approach angle by up to 9%

 

I heard just talking talking to Marie increases drivers off road skill by 5 points.

 

This is the only sticker proven to add HP, duh!

In my experience, the conventional "racing" decals, such as TRD, Castrol, Summit, B&M, etc. add a considerable amount of HP. I'm not equipped to give exact numbers but you can feel it in the seat of your pants. While product and supplier stickers give you an increased payload. Others such as Tacoma World or Tacoma Nation make you more attractive and alluring. And makes your beer taste better.

 

This is good to know. Someone told me that I have to choose between the Overlanding or the Mall Crawling patches. Being I like beer, meat, bacon, and America, Looks like Overlanding patches it is!

 

Subbed! Let me know what you find out OP. I've got magnaflow catback and AFE stage 2 intake - looking for a cheaper way to add HP without breaking the bank with a supercharger.

 

Has anyone done a dyno test after stickers?
