    In October of last year (2016) I purchased a new 2017 SR5.

I looked at every truck on the lot that day. Most were either Sport or Off-Road packaged trucks.
I couldn't see enough of a difference to convince me to turn loose of more funds for anything more than the SR-5 that I wound up buying.

So, that said, what did I miss? What options do the other packages have that I don't that make them worth the additional coin?

I don't go off road so crawl control and any of the other off road specific stuff would NEVER be used.

I realize the Sport and Off Road packages have different suspensions. My truck rides like a wagon. Are the other ones any better?

The other packages have bigger/nicer wheels and stickers.

Are there some mysterious options that I am missing?

Engine, transmission, etc are all the same, right?

I'm just curious more than anything and want to understand if I missed something.

Factory Blackout package, Soft roll up bed cover, Cheap seat covers, Front and rear dash cam, AVS in channel vent visors
Push button start, LED Drls, turn signal in mirror(does the Sr5 have this?), Qi charger, skewp on the Sport, the TRD decals on the bed, power outlet in the bed, not sure if the fog lights are different, I know the ones on the PRO are, Entune premium with integrated nav and app suite.
There may be more, that's the big ones I can think of right now.

I purchased my TRD sport loaded because of the dual climate, navigation, touch screen, seat heat, and the JBL. I like the LED DRL's.

Well probably the biggest thing in my book is you can't get an SR5 with a manual. You can with any of the TRD models.

Plus you can get the premium and tech package which has the following..
"includes front dual zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, rear parking sonar, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) (replaces chrome rear bumper with color-keyed on Off-Road grade) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), projector-beam headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) with auto on/off feature, and power tilt/slide moonroof"

JBL audio is optional on double cab models with the automatic transmission.

Without the P&T package all your looking at is the sliding rear window, qi wireless charger, bed outlet, DRLs, wide angle fogs and different shocks. Plus aesthetic stuff...wheels, black fenders, scoop, different grills, etc. And of course the offroad stuff on the TRD OR..locker, ATRAC and ATish tires

In all honesty, were I a little happier with my SR5's overall engine/transmission performance, I would entertain trading to a Sport or OR model. Seems like I'm missing a lot of stuff that may not be truly "functional" from a driving standpoint but more functional from a comfort standpoint. Are the seats the same (other than heated vs non-heated)?

The higher packages have nice additions. I got the OR 4x4 for the larger rear end, locker and I liked the suspension and black moldings to break up quicksand. Also the multi terrain features are nice. I do Off-roading and like those features. To me, my opinion, the sport is a rip. You get a scoop that's not even functional.

Not sure about the seats.... The "added" features are just "creature comforts" and not worth the $.... But if you can afford them and don't give a shit.... why not, eh?

I didn't know the OR had a different rear end?

That was my logic when I bought my SR5 and what I'm basically trying to reassure to myself........

The skewp will get you the "chicks" or "ladies", depending on yer age... hehe Also the skewp solves the hood de-lamination issue with other models.

Different wheel sizes (sport is bigger) :dancingbacon:... Different shocks....OR's are "soft", not HARD like the sport....:broccoli:

2nd quessing, eh?.... Too late for that.... Love the truck you got.... drive it and enjoy it.... Pay attention to the others out there and you will be in a better position to buy the next one...!!

    It's 0.75" bigger. 8" standard, 8.75" on Offroad.

You missed lots of stuff. The question is whether you will miss the stuff you missed.
If you really miss something, you can add it later. If not, you chose wisely.

None of those things are necessary. Ever. Especially the scoop. You're not missing anything unless you're a crippled vegan with a temperature sensitive significant other.

I really never understood the whole power seat thing. Once it's set, do you really need to move it that much?
