I've had my '17 TRD Sport DC LB AT for about a month with just over 500 miles on it (normally I do about 18K per year). This is not the time of year I normally put a lot of miles on my vehicle, so I really haven't had the opportunity to put the truck through its paces.

Wednesday I will be driving over to eastern Washington for a 3-day turkey hunt, about a 450 mile drive round-trip, plus whatever miles I drive while there (Grand Coulee Dam area). Most of these miles will be on the interstate and state highways with speed limits around 60 - 65. I'll go over one 3K mountain pass and another lower pass or 2. So there'll be some elevation gains and losses.

Any suggestions as to what I should focus on in terms of my truck's performance? Of course I'll be attentive to the transmission, interior noise and rattles, etc. What else?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Don't look for anything, that's how you find problems that don't exist. Drive it like you would any other vehicle that is new to you.

My advice, just drive and go places or you may have a miserable trip. If something is wrong or goes bad, you'll soon know about it, trust me on this. You have a warranty, but there's no warranties for hearing things or voices on your head.

    Enjoy your truck!

You are still not quite thru break in yet so if you can take a different route to vary your speeds a little it will help, otherwise enjoy the truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same truck, but a 16, about 24k miles on it, I found that the more you read, the more you look for those problems, yeah I have a little of that gear hunting, and I think I heard the howling,
but that might of been my imagination :} I love the truck, no problems, and when I'm on the hwy, I average about 22 mpg, sometimes more, which is nice. Enjoy the trip and the truck, no problems!! :)

We just did our first road trip in ours with 500 miles on the clock... from the tri valley to Reno, over Donner summit at almost 8000 ft. 500 mile round trip. Truck performed fantastic and I am so glad we got the sport, it handled and rode great. I really like the ride of the Sport and am so glad I got it instead of the Limited. There still had to be 15-20 feet of the snow over the summit.

Thanks to all for your suggestions / recommendations. Hitting the road tomorrow a.m. and I can assure everyone I'll be preoccupied with the turkey hunt and some beautiful scenery on the drive over to Grand Coulee.

A girl I knew used to go to strip clubs and throw rolls of quarters at the strippers. She'd scream "THERES TEN BUCKS, BITCH!"

    Oh tonya... :drunk:

Just got back from an 1800 round trip from Charlotte to Boston. Truck did great, I found that S5 in 95 traffic helped but 99% left it in D and never had any issues. CC worked great and very comfortable. Hope you have the same experience.
