Can anyone recommend a good Atlanta Area Toyota Dealer that has helped them with TSB's on their 3rd Gen Tacoma and been helpful with fixing warranty issues?

delayed shifting from Reverse to Drive. Weird shift points. Erratic Engine Idle. Lower Control Arm noise. Got 31,500 miles. 2016 Tacoma Double Cab, SR5, V6 Automatic 2WD.

Trans software update PDF of the TSB is on first post here:

Some engine idle jumps are normal for this truck. See the Atkinson/otto cycle and A/C kicking on and off...also if you move steering wheel.

Thanks for the info. I had the TSB for the transmission done and it now shifts fine and no more delays from Reverse to Drive. I went to Cherokee Toyota in Canton GA for anyone that is interested. They did the TSB on the transmission no questions asked. When I showed them the TSB for the Lower control arm plugs they declined to do it stating it doesn't fix the noise complaints people experience. I will have to do that one myself.

I have used almost all the Toyota dealers in ATL for a long time.

IMO, World Toyota is best and Atlanta Toyota is 2 for service and TSB's.

Sandy Springs Toyota can be a pain, where they are located, and not had best results there.

The most important thing is get a good service writer who will try to help you on your first trip.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

PS. I will try Cherokee Toyota next, never been there.

Some times flashing the ECU helps it shift better because it resets the transmission to learning mode but after a few thousand miles it reverts to crap shifting. Give it some time to see. The TSB is not a cure for everyone. A lot of folks end up back here complaining again later. Hopefully your issues are fixed but I wouldn't hold my breath.

After reading this I finally have it figured out. If the TSB reverts to a "learning mode", and a few thousand miles latter it has reverted back crap shifting, theres the rub. Absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission, its the owner, who obviously is "teaching" this tranny to shift so bad. Know I know why I have no issues, I know how to drive!!!

Not quite. The transmission in raw form shifts well. Teaching it is one theory but based on my testing of this it doesn't matter if you drive like a bat out of hell or a grandma it still reverts to crap.

I've had the opposite experience, rude + long lines. The dealership itself was outright lying to me when I was trying to buy a truck from them too.

I second this recommendation. My parents used them with great success. My Taco hasn't needed service yet, but I'll go there when the time comes.

I bought my Taco from the dealer in McDonough, the dealership was awesome. I haven't had service there, but I at least walked around and they seemed helpful with a short wait. May be worth looking at if you're closer to them.
