    I actually am replacing my 2014 Passat TDI with my new Tacoma. Sold the VW back last week, taking delivery of my new Taco tomorrow.

    83K miles on the VW, Fuelly tells me I averaged 39.6 mpg over those 83K miles. Since CA mandates the castration (eg: fuel emissions modification), which is generally anticipated to drastically reduce both horsepower and fuel economy, I decided to replace it with another 4x4 pickup. I also had pretty bad luck with my TDI. It blew the turbo, and hence much of the engine and other components of the intake system at 7,000 and again at 79,000 miles, the heater core went out, drivers window switch failed.... it was time to get something else.
