Hey guys, i have a 2016 tacoma trd sport 4x4 6MT dcsb. My truck drives fine on the road, but when ever i go in the sand in 2wd and with Trac & VSC Off i get bad wheel hop or axle wrap. Its like my trucks rear is bouncing and shaking back and fourth. My friend has the same truck except auto but he's truck doesn't have this problem. Is there a reason my truck is experiencing it??? I already tried the leaf spring helpers and I tried torqing my leaf spring u bolts to 75ft.lbs...maybe covered by warranty?

It's natural. If you are coming out too fast on the clutch you will get the hop, it sucks. Keep driving and learning your truck and you will eventually avoid it.

Thanks for your reply. Only thing is that I could be rolling and just ease on the gas and i would get the wheel hop. Its strange, none of my other trucks had this prob

Maybe put sand bags in the bed. It has everything to do with weight.

Or when you expect that situation drop your tires to about 18lbs psi. That should help

Bail of hay in the bed... that's about 50#s.. helped me when I had the stock sport suspension. I think it's a characteristic of the Sport suspension. As soon as I got that shit off my truck any experience like the OP is talking about went with the stock suspension... gone.

I have ICON AALs with 5100s in the rear... WAY more planted feeling off road. Night and day difference.

I will try that. Do you guys think adding bilstein 5100s front and rear with wheelers 1.5" progressive 3pack will help? Thats the route im going for now

No the rear seems fine. For the purpose of reducing the wheel hop without buying a entire leaf pack, would you guys recommend a single leaf, or a 3 leaf pack? I dont do much towing but i want something that is stiff enough to prevent axle wrap. I appreciate all the responses
