Not the wrong springs just the same shit quality that came with he truck. This is why I wish they cut checks to soften the blow of aftermarket suspension kits..

Why do you think the OE springs are "shit"?

Why is there a TSB if the stock springs are so "great"?

The recall is for the center spring shifting and causing possible damage.

I think it's very possible they did not get the correct springs for the truck as stated earlier.

I can get some further information tomorrow at work, Toyota service writer for 3 years now.

Because if the spring failed it would cause the spring to stab the gas tank. The new spring used extra retainers to stop this from happening. Leaf springs from all the manufactures are prone to cracking. Better riding trucks as demanded by the consumer require light leaf springs and soft shocks which compounds the problems.

I actually never said they were "great" but they aren't "shit".

Bilstein/Icon 2" suspension lift with wheelers 5 leaf springs, 7-pin relocate through bumper, bfg KO2s, redline hood struts, immryo mirror relocation, stubby antenna, dipped emblem, heated mirrors, Jason trek cap, led fogs, debadged
Op, this 4th leaf spring you had added it your previous pack, it was an add-a-leaf, was it not? Those can commonly provide your truck with 2" of lift in the rear. Is it not possible that this new 4 leaf tsb pack is just riding back at stock height? Tsb packs aren't lift packs, although they won't squat quite as badly as the 3 leaf packs under load.

    You'd think so but no.
Took three tries for my dealer to install the correct springs.
Had a hour long sit down with service writers and techs and walked them through the four original TSBs for upgraded springs and how it applied to the recall springs.

The 3 leaf recall set lowered the back about 4 inches from the heavy duty four leaf TSB Mex/Can springs. The four leaf TSB Mex/Can recall springs only lowered the ass about 1.5 inches.
