    California went full retard years ago...I dont know how people can even live in BS like that, charging money to check a code on your car...may as well buy a reader and do it yourself....

    That is the best option in the long run. They're so cheap no, it's a no brainer really. Just have to buy a blu tooth plug and download an app for your phone. Might cost your $25 for everything.

    First one I got was $40 bucks, then I thought it was lost because I couldnt find it...then I buy a cheapo $20 one and find out the first one was in the back of my step-daughters car. So now Ive got two...:annoyed:

    So, I haven't been able to get it checked yet (I live in mountains & autozone is over an hour away) and the light went off by itself today, is this normal?

    Again, we won't know until it get's the code read. Could be a wire, could be the gas cap, could be a sensor with a corroded terminal.

    its normal when the computer detects no issue, unless the bulb went dead

    It will say node fault codes detected or at least that's what my reader says when nothing's wrong.
    Did you just buy gas and take your cap on and off? Probably wasn't sealed correctly before and now it is?
