ESP Lockable Rear Seat Storage, MobTown Lockable Bed Hatches, lots of cool Mobtown products (Rear Bumper, complete set of 1/4" steel skid plates, sliders), Old Man Suspension and a bunch of other practical off-road tools to bulletproof my truck...
Today, I woke up at 0400 hours, drove 158 miles from the Western end of Northern Virginia to central Eastern Maryland, near the Delaware boarder, through the middle of the Washington DC traffic, to have Mobtown Off-road install my order. I purchased a bunch of 1/4" plate items and had them installed (Front Skid Plate, Transfer Case Skid Plate and the Transmission Skid Plate), the plate Rear Bumper and their sliders (no fill-ins) all in BLACK POWDER COAT...All I can say is Joe, Brice and Rob are great, talented craftsmen and do wonderful work. The product is excellent, well designed, bad-ass, super strong and will serve my Tacoma for years to come. This stuff is not for show...it is for people that really use their trucks for what trucks are made for...have no hesitation purchasing their products...you will not be disappointed.

Now for the big surprise, after having these items installed (500 to 600 pounds of steel), I have found I got 1.3 miles to the gallon better mileage on the way home. I'm not sure if it was because I was flying high on how badass my truck looked...or if it was because the truck was now built to handle anything I can throw at it...or (this is what I really think has happened), the front Mobtown skid plate is so wide that it has changed the aerodynamics of the truck and it is slicing through the air better, rather than the cheap thin wiggly crap Toyota put on the truck as a skid plate, that acted as an air-dam and a Japanese musical instrument in the past...Bottom line, my truck went from 15.3 miles to the gallon on average the last few months to 16.6 all the way home today...

Thank you Joe and Company...you guys are the best and I wish you all the success in your dynamic and operationally sound products.

    Bob Thrasher

    UPDATE: 05-15-2017

My Tacoma gets regular usage on my 20 acres, as I am building a house and large garage there. The property has 3 big hills that make up the property, which changes in elevation of 50 ft. on each and 3 creeks that runs through the property. I have hit the bottom of my truck (i.e. my skids) multiple times now and instead of hitting my transmission and/or my engine the skids show no damage to concern me...great stuff.

and on the note of MPG

Since I installed my front skid, I've been getting better MPG.

How many miles on your truck? Is it possible that most of your previous driving is mixed and the return trip was all highway thus the increased mileage? Sounds like you need a larger sample size with the added mods.

I'm not sure what you mean set up for overlanding...as it is, it goes anywhere...I have used it on my 20 acres through rivers, creek beds, up and over hills...that is wheelen...

Overlanding is taking truck thru wilderness and camping... some guys with that truck have a hard cover in the back I think from when they were set up as a field hospital and converted it to a camper.

That is a bad ass truck...

Nice, I drove a M931A2 for a few years in the Army before moving up to the M1074 and eventually running convoys in OIF. Just ran across a guy at an event here in CA that took a M923A2 and added a drop side, a suspended bed, a bar and and a sound/light system.

I've got Mobtown skids, sliders and tailgate skins. Awesome stuff and really saved my bacon one night hauling ass through the desert on the way to Vegas a month ago. Never really noticed a difference with MPG. BTW those skids have a nice ring to them when striking jackrabbits @ 70mph.

Added a Tepui RTT on my rack and saw a 2mpg drop immediately.
