Well I finally got a few stitches out of the new machine. This thing is sweet! I haven't sewn in a while, but it was like riding a bike and the machine super easy to work with. It's my first time using a walking foot, why didn't I use one sooner?!

This is the strap to close the lid. It's 1" Mil-Spec tube webbing. I used a zig zag stitch for the loop end and a straight stitch for the the Velcro end so it can be stuck flat to the roof when not in use. More on that later.

Next step is to cut and sew the rest!

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Any chance these toppers would fit a 1st Gen DC Tundra? I'm in Northern California if you need someone to test fit....

    Nice work by the way!

The goal is to have this fit any midsize truck with full-size trucks next.

We'll just finished marking it all out. I have to say this was a significant challenge. I didn't want anything to be crooked and out of square and some measurements were loooong. I think given my tools This is the best I could do to match the CAD drawing.

Next step is to cut it all out and sew in the awning track. Then I can test fit before we add the finishing touches!
