Only differences are cosmetic - and perhaps an update to the ECU fuel mapping which a dealer can take care of.

Edit - also the 2010 does not have an air injection pump on the emissions control unit - which is a good thing

I think that's a great deal for a low mileage 4x4. All the normal checks need to be done but I wouldn't hesitate to buy that.

Per the CarFax report this truck has lived in Wisconsin¹ its whole life--so go over the frame with a fine tooth comb. If there is any significant rust; i.e. anything beyond minor surface rust and t'was me; I would do one of a) use that fact and the following information to knock the price WAY down, or b) walk away.

If you buy this vehicle you will not be considered a "class member" in the Brian Warner et. al. v. Toyota class action suit [BWvT], as you will have purchased it after 12/2/2012 ² (see the Long Form Notice [LFN] to class members). If frame rust problems arise you will be on your own, the only good news is that you will be free to sue Toyota individually--class members give up that right (see the LFN).

    ---------------------------
¹ - While Wisconsin is considered by the class action suit to be one of the "CRC States, which have high road salt use" the current owner of the vehicle, if purchased after 12/2/2016, will not be a class member and will not be eligible for and remedy under the terms of the Settlement Agreement.

² - I have verified this with the suit's attorneys, owners who purchased 2005 to 2010 Tacomas after December 2, 2016 are NOT class members in the BWvT suit.

Former owners, who owned them prior top 12/2/2016 are included, but are only eligible for reimbursement for out-of-pocket frame replacement expenses made prior to 12/2/2016.

Better yet, pound it with a ball peen hammer and prod it with a big pry bar.

If you have a borescope (even the ones that attach to a smart phone) run it in the holes in the frame to check the inside. They often rot from the inside out.

I must first state clearly that I have no affiliation with "jcayce", don't know him, never heard of him before, not even sure if I do care to know him (no offense jcayce)--all that said t'was me I would definitely consider flying to Texas, buying a 33k mile "southern kept" '09, and driving home before buying one that has spent it's life in what the current class action suit calls euphemistically the "CRC States",

Or Florida, here's what the underneath of my "whole life in Florida" 09 DCSB looks like with 150k miles on it:

I have to say I agree with Cliffyk. My daughter is graduating college in another year and wants to pick up a good used Tacoma. I'll probably do some searching in the south for that very reason.
