Looking for Ideas on what type of suspension kit is good for a 2012 TRD 4x4 dbl cab truck. Not trying to break the bank but wouldn't mind spending a little to get a nice lift for off roading here and there.....

The truck already has a nice stock lift that looks good, but needs a little TLC with accessories wheels, rack, lights.......

This truck would be a drive to work / go off road camp fish and explore...

    Please help!!! Need ideas!

You're about to be bombarded with posts about Bilstein 5100s. Listen to them.

Front coilovers: Rear shocks: Rear AAL: A 5100 lift with an add-a-leaf is a budget minded but effective way to increase your capability on the trails while still maintaining a good ride on the street. Off-road shocks tend to be valved stiffer and as such tend to ride rougher on roads.

Rough Country shocks are meant to be sold, not used.
    I'd go with Fox/King > Icon > OME > Bilstein 5100s > Zone > Rough Country > Pro Comp

Eibach 620# springs and Bilstein 5100's on lowest setting. Replace the stock bump stops with Wheeler's Super Bumps. You will probably want an AAL(if not carrying much weight) or an entirely new leaf pack. This will lift the truck 1.6" give or take and will still allow a pretty good alignment without upper control arms.

I have the above set up with a single AAL. These trucks should have came stock this way. Rides firm on the street but smooths out rough roads. The only thing I'm not too happy with is the AAL as my canopy has really sagged my springs. New leafs and UCA's are on my list and then I may bump the 5100s up a notch.

It really does come down to how much you want to spend!

Inexpensive route that will get the job done, Bilstein 5100's all the way around, AAL and some $$ left over for other accessories.

If you want to spend some $$ but want the best, King Shocks all the way around, Upper arm, Full leaf pack etc...

My vote is for OME springs and shocks up front and a 3 leaf AAL in back with which ever shocks in back you prefer.

You never did specify your price range.. for some, $3000 is a drop in the bucket, others $750 is breaking the bank. Lets assume $1000 ish.

I've got the Bilstein 6112/5160 with 3 leaf AAL and SPC Light Racing UCAs. $1650. Originally, $1000 was my price range, but research led me to save up a little more and get the best for my needs. I don't think you can go wrong with 5100s. Even with UCAs, you're looking at $1200 for everything.

I will be doing 5100 w/ OME 885 Upfront, LR UCA's, Wheelers 3 Leaf AAL and 5125's. About $1200. Add in spacers because I want them and boom $1400 and I am all set.

5100's all around, with upgraded leaf pack.
Thanks every one for their input on suspension upgrades! I will be hopefully making a choice here in the next few months.

I did like the Bilstein 6112 over the 5100 for the front, and for the rear 5100's with AAL.

I know it can get expensive well over 2k for suspension up grades, but hopefully i can stay under $1500-$1700.

Fox has a stage 1 kit that fits in your price range I believe. Another option would be Kings up front and standard fox in the rear. That would put you around 1600 I believe

Possibly, or i have a shop near the house that i can rent by the hour to use a car lift, space and tools + support if needed.

    Thanks.
