I bought both of these ball joints at NAPA and have just now noticed that they have to be from different manufactures. Finish, boots, ball studs, bottom seal plates and even the bolts are different. Both boxes are labeled Master Ride, but one of the boxes says "McHenry, IL". The one from the McHenry box has "BAW" on the casting, boot and seal plate. I'll admit that I'm a bit funny about things matching so I'm not crazy about this. Which one is good?

My guess is that any of the store brands like Napa's Masterride or Autozone's Duralast, is sourced out to who ever can meet the cost requirement and quantities they require, so it could be a bunch of manufacturers providing parts for the store brand.

Here's two more photos with better light. Also, price on the one that's labeled McHenry, IL is $32.99 vs $25.49 for the other.

Thanks for the overwhelming responses about these LBJ's.

I have returned them and purchased OEM ball joints.

I think you made the right choice on your own. I went with Moog on my 4runner and they were awful, OEM is the only way to go.
