Blower fan plug fried!

    Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.

    Hey Jimmy, I successfully replaced the burnt resistor and noticed the fan blower connector is a little charred and needs to be replaced.

    Why do you need the wires? you can't reuse the ones in there? Is there a youtube out there on replacing this part?

    You need to replace the terminals in the plug as they are the source for the heat ( loose connection acting as a heater ). You will need the wires and the connector itself. If it got good and hot the wires are probably damaged anyway. Cut off the old and splice in the new.

    Just my $.02, not sure in these posts if the blower motor was replaced but if I find any blower connector wiring that is melted and needs replacing, I would highly recommend replacing the blower motor too. A failing motor can draw more current and cause the wires to operate hot and melt the connector.

    Great Job Jimmy!! AC is blowing fine. Other than being ripped off on shipping it was a quick fix.

    As for replacing the the blower motor I did that once already. I blame Toyota and myself for that...

    at 191k miles I don't see me keeping it much longer. this will get kid #3 outta HS and off to college.

    20210314_131924.jpg Sorry to bump an old thread, but for the life of me I can't get the plug out of my blower motor. It has a little play if I push in and pull out but it doesn't matter how hard I push the release tab it doesn't want to pull out. Any thoughts? Anyone else have difficulty removing their plug? I kind of wonder if my blower motor is a cheap replacement.

    Try harder. Not pulling, but the release. Use a small tool to push if needed.

    I second the above. Your finger won’t do the trick on old connectors. Depress the tab with needle nose pliers or a pen or something and pull at same time
