RCI sliders bolt holes don't line up?

I wanted yours but no local shop deals with you, RCI was easy to get here in Canada.

For all the holes that do line up that are just too small I'm almost considering just swapping to a slightly smaller bolt.

and now that I think about it it was just barely too small. to the point where if it was tapped the bolt would've threaded right into it. So I might just ream em out.

its just the drivers side I'm worried about drilling lol.

Vailed worry for sure..careful careful. I put fuel line on my brake lines that came close to or touched the bolts. Might not stop a drill from wrecking them, but it would help. Cut a slit in the feul line and put it over the brake line.

 

It's two bolts and you can pull the brake line about 6"-8" away from the frame. I would definitely do that before drilling.

 

good idea, I was going to mention that was another thing that I was a bit concerned with, I know with one bolt a brake line is sitting right on it, was thinking of putting something for extra protection.

 

I emailed RCI, I'm not so much concerned with drilling just curious which of the cut outs in the slider plate I should be drilling with the frame.

 

I'm not experienced with working on frames but if you drill into metal and then don't paint over it it could rust, might want to paint over where you drill as a precaution. My $.02

I was just looking at yours online and made me think of something I have to do.

you guys provide square washers with yours. Much better than the regular fender type washers with the RCI. I know from work they are a hell of a lot stronger. So I'll pick some up from work and replace all the ones on here with those for added strength. and consider drilling eventually as well.

I'm almost considering paying my mechanic to do it just because if he's to fuck up he'll at least be able to fix the brake line as well.
