I agree, if you can still get them. They were on EBay a couple of months ago. I picked up a pair. Absolutely love them!

Here they are, it says 96% sold so if you want them here's your chance. I spoke with the guy at Bev Smith Toyota when I bought mine and apparently they found a pallet or two in a warehouse and they got they're hands on them.

Gotch'ya, in the same boat for a lift. You have a few options. OBX makes the cheapest option, don't know anyone that has ever installed those...read in a thread they were made in China and not worth the money. Not sure if the guy who posted that spoke from experience. Doug Thorleys are similar in price as the TRD's but are shortie headers, the TRD's are long tube. A lot of guys who went with DT's like them. I think JBA's make a set as well but don't know much about them. I'd do a search on here and read some posts. You'll find your fair share of threads on headers I'm sure.

Fitment guide says they wont fit my 96 Tacoma 4 X 4, 3.4. I wonder what the difference is between my 96 and the 98 that they say it will fit.

I run JBA stainless steel shorty headers.

I'm happy. Not a giant noticeable increase in power/acceleration.. But they make the truck sound great, and look good under the hood.

If you have a 3.4, the only difference will be the y-pipe. Tacoma's changed their catalytic converters from a one cat to a two cat system. After the TRD Ypipe, your local exhaust shop could fabricate your exhaust to make it work. You may or may not need an o2 sensor simulator from URD depending on whether or not your truck will throw a Po420 code.

I only bought the TRD headers because they were discontinued and I plan to S/C my truck. Other than sounding awesome, there isn't any noticeable HP gains.

obx headers are basically jba clones. Dt has (or did) have long tubes.

I don't think DT has ever made LT headers for first gens. I personally wouldn't bother with the headers. Like some have mentioned they are an absolute nightmare to install and the gains are marginal if at all. The money and time would yield far better returns invested elsewhere.

Yep, the only reason I did it is I plan to have my truck for as long as it will drive, Im going to be supercharging it so the headers would actually be useful. The difficulty would have been well worth paying $500 to have a shop do it but I love my truck and enjoy working on it so I chose to do it myself. The satisfaction of having done it was rewarding but it is pretty difficult to say the least.
