To confirm if you need the ECGS bushing, get under the truck and see if you can move the L CV shaft more than a 1/4in up or down. After the bushing it will still move in/out a little, but the up/down play goes away which is where the vibe comes from.

A removal/install set popped up in the classified section this morning so I jumped on it. Probably do a couple trucks on a day after Jambo. Thanks for the tip on freezing the bushing.

We'll be heading out to Bridgeport on the 30th, so we'll miss you by a day.

Can it be checked with the truck still on the ground?

Yeah, I was hoping to be there on the 30th and hang-out with you guys, but I'm taking my wife (she hasn't been before) and she can only go on the 29th.

It's best to check the axle while the truck is still sitting on the ground so the weight is still on the suspension and the CV is lined up the way it would be under normal driving conditions.... Also, I had a vibe after the ECGS bushing install was done around 35-45 mph, if the bushing doesn't fix it, your U-joints may be going. Wheeling is hard on u-joints.

Thanks. Trying not to spend a fortune... but need something with better stopping power. I think this is going to be a post Jambo mod though.

Hell, Autoanything right now has the Non Drilled and Slotted EBC rotors with Green Stuff with 20% off.

Anyone know off hand if we need 12.6in rotors or 10.8in rotors? Autoanything says that the 10.8 goes on the Base, 4WD, 4.0L V6, with 6-lug wheels and the 12.6 goes on the 4.0L V6, with 6-lug wheels?

@Geremy have fun at Grapevine, I am going to try and get up there before it gets too hot to ride it hopefully.

this is basically my issue but the vibs tend to happen around all speeds. I can't pinpoint it exactly and it doesn't go away in 4 hi.

Yep, I still have the install tool and race bearing driver. I have shipped the ECGS install tool along with the single race bearing driver (the one you need for this job) all over the U.S. in a flat rate box, most it ever cost me was $7.41. I send it from my end and cover the shipping cost on my end, then all I ask is when the person is done with it (no rush) just cover the shipping and send it back to me. Kind of a "pay it forward" thing. A hell of a lot cheaper than buying it all, since it's a one time use thing anyway. Hell one time I even sent it to Idaho and while it was there I got a request for it by someone else so I sent a PM to the guy that had it in Idaho and sent him the next guys address and just told him to send it to the next guy when he was done, then I got it sent back from the second user when he was done. Easy peasy

I got a tool set coming from New Jersey and supposed to arrive Thursday. I won't be ready to work on it until after Jambo, though. Hopefully, I won't be fixing anything else by then.

That is what I thought as well. Guess AutoAnything is backwards.

Would be $139.12 for EBC Premium Rotos and Green Stuff Pads shipped for me.

Or $159.74 for Power Stop Z23 Slotted and Drilled Rotors with Pads...

@ETXTacoma had a good MTB ride with your buddy. Next time lets all get together. I need help fending off the jeep bros that were swarming.

Did this today. I had a small cut in the leather at the bottom of the steering wheel. Used some paracord to wrap it with an axe handle wrap. Turned out pretty nice I think. Plus now I have 30 ft of paracord on a quick deploy knot if I need it.
