    Though i digress. What is the legality of completing a 80% lower yourself (legally) and then having someone else hard anodize it for you?

    Anodizing is legal, it's not like they are putting it together. Kind of like if the DMV told me I can't paint my car, total BS.

    No different than taking in a boat anchor to Anodize. Other than 'having to mill it yourself' an 80% lower is exactly the same as a store bought lower once its all said and done.
