We're lucky to have a foot of dirt in most areas. Otherwise it's solid rock.

You and me both the sensation thing meh it is a party trick to be able to grab something up to about 120 deg and hold it ( yes I get a blister if I hold it to long) but it takes a bit for the heat to get to me lol. The numb and tingling BS is ANNOYING when you try to sleep , hold anything etc . I do not use Styrofoam or paper cups and have not for years as my hand slowly closes with out me realizing it squishing the cup. The contraction is not enough to do much more then that but it is annoying. They get the left done and soon as it is healed the right will be done.

Find the asphalt depth. Drill holes just short of punching through and drop in some dowel pins to tie your top steel to. The wire panels should work great and keep your labor to a minimum. You're going to need a minimum of 4" of concrete.

I'd have to rip up my bricks but have considered redoing with concrete and aggregate for traction. Pavers are pretty. And pretty much a PITA as they age.

Food baby FTW! You got me thinking with that Krusteaz, I really like Krusteaz pancake mix. Pecans, chocolate and chocolate Krusteaz would make a hell of a cobbler. Way too many carbs but...

Don't leave Mike out there out there without a face mask of some type to prevent frost burn. That crap is for life and lot of people here have burns on their face and neck from doing that without proper gear. Something like a Mark V gas mask but with bug eyes works.

I've poured more than I ever wanted to. I hate pouring concrete. Everything is wet, heavy and below ground level. You're stooped over building forms, stooped over screeding, you're stooped over finishing the sides and edges...I hate pouring concrete but, with my job, it's a necessary evil.

Did I mention I hate pouring concrete?

That would depend on where grade is in regard to what's around it. You can slope concrete to put drainage where you want it. Order it at a 3-4" slump and, while it is heavy and unwieldy, it is pretty stiff. Most pour at about 6" slump or less which makes it easier to work but won't hold much of a sidehill. But it doesn't take must slope to make water drain.

Lots of sand here. Subgrade is easy to dig. I usually have to import material if I need any kind of compaction. We use alot of "recycled abc". It's old concrete thats been ground up with old asphalt grindings along with some 3/4" minus. Makes one hell of a pad or road cap.
