Did you use BLO or varnish to finish it? Do you have any use for soft maple? I got in a metric shit load of soft maple if you need any. Name the size and I have it lol

I just sanded and coated with CA glue, then buffed. Some alternate the blo with ca, but some say it will flake. I'm going to try some with just blo and buffer. what would be a good use for the soft maple?

I'm a firm believer in BLO and buffing.

Mostly chair making. My dad makes a lot of custom chairs and my boss had some he had cut. Did not realize he had 2 whole truck loads of soft maple for me lol. Do some research on what you can turn with it.

Here's some exciting news for me.
This is the 2nd tank of gas I ran in the truck since having all my repairs done.

310 is about 340miles on the gps with my tires calculated in. (I just filled up and the gas Guage is going up)

I was averaging 260 miles per tank, mixed driving. (290 gps) =17.058

    Now.....310 (340 gps)= 20mpg.
    Happy camper right here.

OK folks, I need some help

My buddy who's a mechanic was in a pretty bad car wreck friday night, and I'm anxious to get my lift installed

I'm capable of turning a wrench, but I'm not going to install a lift in an apartment parking lot...realistically i just want to drop off my truck with all the parts and magically come back to it but I don't mind helping someone else who knows what they're doing

So basically I'm looking for a reasonable TRUSTED shop near Columbia/Lexington ORRRRR someone who's willing to "do the work" with my capable help for the low low and I pay in beer or dinner or whatever terms we work out

Man, I might go for something like you did... I guess after 120k miles an engine could use a good cleaning like that

Yea. It seemed to help quite a bit.
I had Toyota do all the work and I paid a pretty penny, but I specified genuine oem parts only. It's all warranties, and they are just down the road. It would have taken me a month to do all that and the car would have had to sit outside while the truck was taking up my garage space.

Definitely better than getting a newer truck, in my opinion... I feel like paying money to upkeep an old truck is less in the long term than having monthly payments on a new truck

Hmm... I've installed coilovers and UCAs by myself and both took me a solid afternoon to do taking my time and making sure I did it right. Not sure how avid of a DIYer you are but all that stuff is doable yourself other than the wheels and tires, but will take some time. I'd do it yourself only if you feel the price to get it done professionally is too much. I'm one cheap ass bastard and a very stubborn DIYer so of course the professional price was too high lol

Thanks man... I can honestly call the thing mine now... I'll always be thankful to my dad for it
