    Hey guys,

I have a real doozy here . Truck was running perfectly fine . I left work on a Thursday night and drove home . The next morning I went to go to work and the truck didn't want to start. I've checked battery , fuses , relay , fuel pump... all checks out . Next step is let's check the computer . I connected my scan tool to the truck and it tells me that it cannot be read . I tried a different scan tool and same thing . I went and bought a new computer (Used) and still same problem. Engine turns over as if it wants to start. It's not the starter, I even went as far as removing an after market alarm that was on incase it went bad and got stuck in anti-theft mode . I don't know what else to do .

Does your fuel pump prime when you turn the key

No and there's no power going to the fuel pump with the key on or with trying to start it. Also when I turn the key the check engine light does not come on either. I even tried changing the bulb thinking it was that and nothing

Check the fuel pump relay if thats good check to see if you have power to the pump if you do then you prolly need a pump. If you dont have power to the pump follow the lines see if anything is shorting out. If all looks good you nay need a new computer. The computer tells the pump what to do

Idk if the computer its self has a fuse? Or relay. But do some research check that out. Pull one of the spark plug wires see if your getting spark if you have no fuel or spark you gotta computer issue

Checked the relay and also jumped it and nothing . Followed all the wires and no shirt anywhere. Figured it was the computer so I went and bought one. Still nothing. Now you see why I'm going crazy

Do you have a buddy with a similar truck? Could you swap in his 'known good' ECU and see what happens? Your used one may be bad.

See if your getting ignition spark first. If you are then hard wire the pump to the battery with a length of wire try turning it over see if it will run. But make sure you disconect the fuel pump after or it will kust keep running and burn out

And you can possibly be right. I'm really hoping this is not the case. Trying to really figure it all out before I loose my cool lol . How do I turn to the company and say "hey it's not working" there's no real way of knowing

Pull a wire and stick a sparkplug at the end of it. Let the plug rest on something and see if you can see it arcing at all

Checked for power at the ignition? Could be as simple as a bad ignition switch.

I would get your OBII plug cleaned that your device is able to talk to the ECM.

Nothing happened on the drive home ??

    Pouring Rain? Big puddles ??

    Hit any hard bumps ??

Same issue with me a few months ago, replaced cap and rotor, plug wires, maf sensor, crank sensor....finally replaced the distributor and runs good now ('95 2WD 2.4l)
