For less money you could have bilsteins and an add a leaf.

I have about $400-$500 to spend on my lift, i know this question gets asked time and time again but whats my best choice to fit those 285s?

Not looking to do crazy amount of off roading either, truck mainly is for the pavement (my daily) but i do take my bike out to pismo occasionally. Mainly wanting the look and to fit my 285s.

Not 100% certain on this, but I've been doing a lot of research lately on lifts and tires since I'm also in the market. I'm most likely doing bilsteins on all corners with wheeler's 3 leaf progressive AAL. Comes out to $499, and I think it should be enough lift for those tires. Might have to trim a bit.

Something else to consider is when you lift the front you may or may not need aftermarket UCA's depending on how much lift you are going for.

Lifting the truck does not help fit larger tires. If they don't fit stock they won't fit lifted. All lifting does is change the static height of the truck, but the suspension is still free to cycle through it's range of motion.

This is true. But if only doing street driving or not much off-roading it will work for his situation.

    I'd say 5100s.
I just went from a 2" spacer to 2.5" lift of 5100s and holy shit it rides way better

    I have 285/70/16s

Save more money. Don't get sucked in by the need for instant gratification, especially when it's (as you describe) only for looks.

    Wait and do it right.

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road. Tell her your goals. She'll recommend bits and give you a quote, then you'll know what your savings target is. Hustle up some more cash. Use your truck to do it if you can, make her earn her way.... :D

This ^. Had this setup on my '09 and was very happy with it. You can go with a 2" AAL if you want to save some money. Don't forget 3* shims for the rear axle.

Good lord could you imagine what the ride would be like if you cranked those things down to 5" of lift? :annoyed:
