Let's call the Qi "Charging" Pad what it really is... It is more of a cell phone battery "Maintainer" than an effective "charger"

It really charges too slow for the average 20 to 30 minute commute to have any significant impact on the battery level, particularly if it is already low.

If you're driving around all day or on a road trip, it will Maintain at least and at best will charge the phone very slowly (maybe 1% to 2% every 10 minutes)

You really must not be from Philly then if you're hitting up Geno's on a regular basis!o_O Dallesandro's FTW! And if you're venturing into that South Philly tourist trap, at least go across the street and get a respectable sandwich from Pats!

It appears I've found another Philly transplant in the Valley of the Sun? I've got a list a mile long before I even get to Geno's. Miss the cheesesteaks, but really miss the good bread in Philly. Craving a nice Sarcone's or Primo's Hoagie on a nice seeded roll! The bread out here sucks.

And scrapple. I miss me some scrapple.

That's horrible. Mine will charge pretty quickly. I'll get 10% from a half hour drive.

I had the Note 4 with compatible charging device, the note 5 and I just broke down to get the S8 Plus. They ALL charge super slow the same way I described, if below 20% battery it will charge even slower or not at all. Perhaps there is something wrong with my charging coils. However I think it is operating as designed because many others have corroborated my experience with their own.

I have one of those receivers that stick onto the back of the iPhone under the case. Charges pretty fast, about 50% in 20 minutes. After that is hot enough that I can flip it over and heat my burrito, pizza pocket, fry an egg, etc. Works great!

Round of applause for stating obvious! After having owned 5 cars with a manual tranny, I figured it was time for a break.

I'm using QI adapters in a life proof case and a QI case itself on an iPhone 6s and 5se. Both charge reasonably fast. But I have noticed with my android phones in the past that they don't charge as quickly off the same power adapters as my Apple stuff. Then again they have half the battery capacity as the android equivalents, so that is likely a factor too.

Well that may be a bit of an exaggeration . I don't know exactly how fast it charges, but it always charges from 30%ish to full in my 45 minute drive home. My wife's android charges much slower on it and with less heat, but as previous poster said that may be due to smaller iPhone battery.

iPhone 5s BTW (I know, I need a new phone!!!)

Just an update since it's been almost two months since upgrading to the S8+. No improvement in charging vs how the Qi charged my Note 5. In fact now the problem I'm having is that after about 20 minutes the Qi charger will start beeping at me with Green and Orange lights flashing as if there is a malfunction and the phone is almost hot to the touch.

Add wireless charging to the list of gimmicky add on features. Up there with the Gopro Mount and Crawl control.

Secretly hoping the phone will catch fire and burn my Turd Gen to the ground.:drevil:

I wonder if you can pull the charging circuitry from say the Samsung quick charging pad and replace the stock one so it'll be faster. 1% ever 10 minutes is a joke
