    TRD Offroad shifter question
Dumb question, but should my gear shifter handle be able to turn like you could screw or unscrew the entire shifter?
When I'm driving I just noticed that I could rotate the handle left and right.
    Is this normal?

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
My understanding is that it's normal to be able to unscrew the shifter knob.

Ya, mine was loose from factory. It would rotate slightly while shifting. Due in part to the hole it threaded too deep that once tight, the shift pattern diagram is way off. (Over rotated in clockwise direction)

Squeeze the chrome trim, and rotate slowly and carefully to separate it from the shifter knob. Once separated, unthread the knob completely, pack it with a small amount of whatever you want to make the hole less deep. I searched my truck and found two straw wrappers and packed them in.

Tighten knob, check to see alignment of shift pattern so that its what you want. Add more junk you have laying around if still not correct.

Guess I should add in the safety part.
    -engage parking brake
    -turn engine off
-get beer from fridge and drink
    -get to work.

I had the same issue with my 2017 less than 500 mile's on it, luckily I didn't have to add anything extra. I just simply was able to rotate the knob clockwise and it tightened and I just had to slide the chrome piece back on. thank you for the help, I know this was posted awhile ago but it worked!
