What a crazy race, 48 did a hell of a job, sneaky fast, they are all excited they stole one. Bower doing Bowyer things, he is a great driver so all you haters when I called his consistency last year ,ha. He will win 1-2 races this year, Sonoma I'm betting. Great race, love seeing a higher line come in late at Martinsville and bristol this year.

Well, ordered the KB Cessna hat. Figured it'd help him buy tires?

He's said int he past he wants to focus more on his Late Model program and go back and run Late Models. I'd love to see this. I'd make more trips up to Greenville-Pickens and the like to catch those LM races.

Hendrick better put Alex Bowman in that car STAT. Dude. It'd be so great to see Elliott, Blaney, Bowman, Larson, and Jones duking it out week after week.

i do have one legit tire question... ARCA uses general tire, and everyone else uses Hoosier.... why does nascar use goodyear?

Business buddies. Golfing buddies. Hunting buddies. Goodyear and NASCAR make a lot of money for each other. If it wasn't so, they'd break the contract.

As far as ARCA: They only started using General last year. Prior to that, they ran Hoosier forever. Most lower tier series use Hoosier and McCreary. I think McCreary used to be in NASCAR as late as the early '80s- back before exclusive non-compete "Official ____ of NASCAR" contracts.

    Legit Hendrick questions:
With Earnhardt out, Nationwide has no obligation to stick with Hendrick. Additionally, Farmers (a competing insurance co.) is leaving at season's end. Kahne is mostly sponsorless and in a contract year for '18. Jimmie is getting long in the tooth. He'll probably retire within the next 3-4 years. Chase Elliott isn't budging. William Byron isn't ready for Cup.

    Earnhardt is out.
Kahne might be out, but filling the #88 is more important right now. This might save Kasey for a 2-year extension if Great Clips steps up.
Bowman seems like the obvious choice, but he doesn't have sponsor$ behind him. NASCAR is going the way of F1 in this way. Drivers buy rides. Bowman can't buy one.
Is this an opportunity for Matt Kenseth (in a contract year) to further his career another 3 years with a short-term Hendrick deal? Kenseth has had trouble securing driver sponsors as well, hence his departure from Roush.

    1. Khane is probably out the door, he hasn't been competitive, says if hes not competitive its time to go. I won't be shocked if William Byron moves up soon.
    2. Bowman doesn't have a sponsor, but he could aquire one. perhaps nationwide???
    3. They will ride the JJ train until he cant race....
    4. Kenseth is good, who would take his spot at Gibbs? Jones is good in furniture row equipment and its Gibbs anyway...
    5. Didnt F1 just get rid of ecclestone? get rid of france and helton. Maybe let people actually work there way up...
    6. To fill the 88 they have to find a fan favorite.... maybe they steal Larson from Ganassi?

I forgot to type the most important query:

Considering potential sponsor deficits and readied drivers with money behind them, could Hendrick drop to a 3-car team? We've seen it happen at Roush. Hendrick is not immune to market fluctuations. They weathered the economic downturn thanks to his diversified business dealings.

    4. Who would replace Kenseth? The Erik Jones and FRR deal is for only one year. Those sponsors are backing Jones, not FRR. One consideration is Kenseth & Jones switching seats. The other is Kenseth retiring and Jones moving over. The end game is that Jones will be at Gibbs with Suarez, Busch and Hamlin.
    5. Ecclestone did not own F1. He was basically the Mike Helton of F1. Helton does not own NASCAR, he's just an executive in the parent company, much like Ecclestone.
    6. Hendrick already tried to steal Larson from Ganassi. So did Penske. Larson declined out of loyalty to Chip.
