Wet sanding likely doesn't need to be done here.

I believe the clear film you're seeing here is factory applied and not an option or aftermarket add on.

Wet sand it with a fine grit sand paper, then use a heavy cut polish, then a finishing polish. You can get results like this assuming it's just paint transfer which is what it looks like it might be.

Genuine question, not being a smart ass, why did you do the scuff removal before the dent repair?

I would think that would make the paint scuff removal harder but also more risky in terms of buffing off more paint on the edges.

You make a great point, the customer paid me to do what they wanted me to do and I was careful about it and took the proper precautions and there were no issues. Yes it could be more risky if you're not careful about the edges, but I've wet sanded plenty of times before and have a lot of experience. If I did paintless dent removal then I would have definitely removed the dent first!

In this case because it was an isolated area and because of the edges I did it by hand. Otherwise I'd do it by machine, and thanks!

So I finally got around to fixing the stratch today. Got the fende stratch fixed perfectly and the majority of it is perfect only thing is that I burnt through a little clear coat on the side of the tiny dent in my cab but I waxed over all my work and it's protected. Atleast I learned something new today and it's looks a hell of a lot better now

Looks a ton better! Keep a close eye on that burn through though. The clear coat is what gives the paint all of its UV protection. When you burn through it like that, it will tend to peel back / delaminate over time. The only real cure is to re-paint it.

So I figured I would get an estimate done on fixing the clear coat burn and dent. Got some guy who said he could do it in one day by painting only a part of the panel, so where on the cab it bends down he would paint from that point down , he said since its a new truck the paint will match and he only needs a little over a day cause he has to seal off the rest of the truck and might have to buff and sand it. Thing is there's another shop that when I got an estimate the first time before I fixed the stratches said they would charge 1350 but looking at the estimate they can prob paint the panel and door for maybe under 600, and give a free loaner car since I'm not going through insurance and it would take 4-5 days. What do you guys think would be better, pay one guy 400 to paint a part of the panel and door or go for a little under 600 and have the whole panel and door painted?
