Ok what's the word on after market air intakes and low end? Should I go with:
    k&n or AFE?
Stay with stock and use a drop in performance element?
    Buy the TRD performance unit?

I don't care much on the top end, looking to boost torque.

As always your input is greatly appreciated.

The front bed rail has pissed me off since day one. After reading all the leaking canopy/tonneau threads I decided to buy an aluminum tubing with the same dimensions as the stock bar, only wider so there was no horrendous gaps to fill. Mounted it up today, some minor trimming on the stock plastic but otherwise it sealed up pretty tight and ready for a canopy!

Great looking truck. What did you do to get a good clean on the undercarriage? I'd really like to get mine up on a rack and power spray it.

CAI's aren't worth the money if you're using it for only performance. They never get the high H.P. and TQ improvements the manufacturer claims. I'd get the drop in element. It flows a bit better, but it is also good for the life of the truck if you clean it according to the manufacturer's recommendation. That's my next mod too.

I have the TRD performance intake and the TRD exhaust. I have read a few post from others that their butt Dyno tells them there is more get up and go out of the gate, my butt Dyno agrees. It would be great if someone on TW had access to a Dyno to see if these mods increase performance. The TRD intake has a straight tube coming from the filter box to the engine as opposed to the bend in the OEM. It probably also helps that it comes with a TRD air filter. There is a thread or posting somewhere on here from a guy that purchased the parts individually as opposed to buying the kit and saved substantial $$. For me even if it's only perceived improvements it was worth it. And it looks cool when you pop the hood.
Do an "intake" search there is a few threads and post on the subject worth reading.

Actually, a guy that I know has a dyno and does performance work (mainly on Mopars) but has tuned and dyno'd many brands of vehicles over the years. Even on performance vehicles like Chargers, Challengers, Camaros, Mustangs etc., CAI intakes only add about 5-10 HP on those vehicles...and those are larger V8's that suck more air than our little V6 engines. I'd say we'd be lucky to get 3-6 HP... and that would be at redline.

Looks like it bent your tailgate. Could just be the angle the pic was taken.

What's the biggest tire (read width) that someone can fit without lift and cutting? 17x8.5" rims.
    :muscleflexing:
(I got OK to spend some money, and I could only afford to buy wheels for now for some considerable time, and there's not enough money for cutting, buying suspension mods etc, hence my question if it isn't obvious.) :cookiemonster:

How did the tone change from stock to the trd exhaust? And is it any louder with the air intake?
