Finally got around to mounting my hi lift, shovel, and ax. ARB awning and jerrycans are up next. I really love the versatility of the rack and how easy it is to add/remove the mounts. In case you are wondering, I used the pilfreybilt universal hi lift mounts using 1/4 1.5" carriage bolts instead of the bolts that were provided in the kit.

Sweet looking setup. Are those "Quick Fist" clamps for the shovel?

I see lots of the Plano gun cases being mounted to these racks for storage. Dose anyone have opinions on the Pelican Air cases?

Pelican is more expensive but more durable imo- that being said I ain't paying for a pelican to go up there. Depends how "water tight" you'd want it

So I'm really interested in getting some roof racks for my cab as well as my camper shell. It seems that a lot of people are loving the prinsu design and really making it their own by adding on different things.

My plan and overall use will be for off road overlanding trips as well as some small kayaking journeys. Mainly overland, and I want to put a RTT on the back. Will the weight hold? Is it going to be too much added weight on top of my snugTop with the rack and the RTT? Also for the front, does anyone know if they can mount "Malone Downloading Folding J-style" kayak racks? Any advice for buying before buying my prinsu racks would be much appreciated!

    Nothing worthy

I can give some Kayak rack input.
I was looking at those Malone racks, never heard of Malone but cool looking stuff.
We went with budget friendly Swagman folding racks and they fit nicely (at 1st). We mounted them using the supplied hardware from the underside but the nice thing about the track system on the Prinsu is to mount the racks to the bars using "T" bolts from underneath and the nuts up top (if you have a sunroof this is major, cause you can't pop it up). After picking up the Kayaks from storage a week ago we tossed them up but quickly found issues with the way they were mounted. Using only one cross bar and supplied hardware from the Swagman racks, one rack loosened up and any bouncing while driving you could see the Kayaks weren't as secure as you would like. This weekend I intend to use the "T" bolts and two crossbars side by side to mount the racks.

So what you're saying is if I wanted to mount two kayaks up top, then push two bars together??? For the extra width?? And as for the sunroof, you can open it just can't pop it up??? Or you can't even open it??

Have you or anyone had any issues with the weight baring?? When it comes to the RTT on to of the campershell? I have a snugtop on its way and it says that it's only rated for 500lbs......

Never had an issue. An RTT is only ~100lbs. Just don't stand up and bounce up and down in it and you will be fine

what RTT is 100lbs? All the ones I have seen are in the range of 140-170lbs. Still I am guessing it would be sufficient.

I guess that's good to go then, the guy I bought it from had me worried cause he said it's only rated for 500lbs. But banks for the reassurance!

Well the RTT I was looking at wasn't 100lbs, it was 250....... that's the only reason I'm worried. I mean plus the weight of the rack and one person you're already way over.... but I'm thinking I'll be fine as long as I'm not doing anything crazy except sleeping.

I got my Prinsu yesterday. But its powdercoated black, which I did not want/pay for. Ill probably be plastidipping the sides and then wind fairing white.

I was going to return it..
