Laurel lakes is an awesome trail... impassable with snow... might not melt for a while

ARE Shell. Pelfreybilt front bumper. hi-clearance rear bumper w/swing out. Rigid light bar/fog lights/reverse lights. Pelfreybilt front skid. Home/hand made slidders. DR front coilovers. Camburg UCA. AllPro Expedition leaf pack w/u-bolt flip and Timbren bump stops. 285 70-17 on stock rims with Spider Trax wheel spacers. EBC slotted/drilled rotors with green pads.
Pretty much 2wd accessible. The first part is a bit steep and dry with holes and rocks going up. But after that it's just a narrow ass dirt road.

It's definitely a narrow ass road literally on the side of a mountain.

Woah. Any idea what caused him to roll? Beginner driver error, poor weather, drunk...?

Narrow ass road with a very tight switch back towards the end. On the switch back my bumper was up against the cliff and my front wheel on the edge about to go over. Pucker time for sure. Nothing to do but a 20 point turn to get around that switch back. Damn trail limo problems.

This is the tiny switchback up there at the end right before the lake. These are just some images I googled up.c452adc4e7d665b185ac1cbe61bffadf.jpg bfe7b6d6ad880ea9f15dfd64adca1157.jpg Img0994Fall-2006.jpg 7dc286b35f61861456b3000b6571b9ce.jpg This is what most of the trail up is like. Really narrow.
    DSC05038.jpg
I also found an image of that 4runner that went off the side.

Careful off-roading out there and always use a spotter.

I've done this trail. Definitely need a spotter that knows what they're doing and radio chatter is mitigated to driver and spotter. @dtaco06 , this trail is easier than that switch back we did at the finallee of out DV trip.

@uhplifted , how are plans coming along for this Sierra trip? Cheers to you for putting on a great TW event!

Still workin on it. Finally been able to read some of the pages of the guide @bigbarlo lent me. I've got the dates down to the July 4th weekend, so there's part of the battle down. Just need to figure out who can make it, where we're camping, what we're doing and all that jazz.

I did finally buy my fishing license with second rod and ocean stamps today though.

Solid. 4th of July weekend is a busy weekend even by yellow post standards. Don't put all your eggs in one basket or we'll be sleeping off 395 in the emergency lane. I'm in no matter what. As long as I stop at Shatts bakery im happy. If you haven't already look up Coyote Flats.

It was a bit seedy but you blew through like a champ just to be relieved to get down. That's my homie right there.

Ya, I figured it'll be a bit crowded but I think it's best for myself and others who are stuck in the monday-Friday jobs. Only have to take off one day if I remember correctly. I'll sit down here in a few and look at the dates again and do a little bit more research before I hit the hay

Alright so official dates for this are as follows:
Arrive: Friday 6/30 (Time TBD, need to figure out if I'm taking all of Friday off or just the afternoon)
    Depart: 7/4
    Tag list: @goblue82 @eccracer104 @YotaGurlIAm @bigbarlo @dtaco06 @eon_blue @Mike likes Tacos @desertjunkie760
Let me know asap if you guys still want and CAN go. I realize it's early but for us with Monday - Friday jobs we need the time to request off to be approved. I'm capping it at this group of people, and will be giving official meet places and further details in a PM.

    Yep…
    Vehicle:
Rock Bangen', Desert Tamin', Gold Findin' Machine!
FYI: currently Tioga Pass, the road to Bodie, Laurel Lakes, Kavanaugh Ridge, and Green Creek roads are closed due to snow (as are other higher elevation routes). We received a little more than 200% average snowfall this year.
There is still plenty of open country to enjoy though, so you boys have fun!
