Hi all, I've been mostly lurking here for a while picking up tips. Figured I'd finally introduce myself! I am the proud owner of (for now) 3- 1st gen Tacomas. I never meant to have 3 trucks, it just kind of happened LOL. I live in the Sierra Foothills near Auburn and though I don't do as much 4x4'ing as I once did, I do get all the tacos up into the snow most weekends for skiing.

I've had a 1996 4x4 Tacoma since ~2003. She's been good to me, has about 315K miles. Unfortunately it recently sprung a small head gasket leak and all the other normal wear and tear so it's taking up space in the driveway until I figure out the plan for this truck- repair or sell(probably)or both.

I picked up a 1999 4x4 TRD Taco about 5 years ago. This one has low miles and is my weekend rig. I just added some Bilstein 5100's and OME springs in front, along with new CV axles. Finally got the ride and lift where I like it! Hoping to keep this Taco for a long time!

Since the head gasket problem with the 1996 creeped up on me, I recently happened on to a relatively affordable 1999 to use as a daily driver. Just put about 30 hours of work (and probably too much cash in parts) into it- flush all the fluids, U-joint replace, steering bushings, plugs/wires/MAF Sensor. Hopefully this one treats me well for a while, though I have a creeping suspicion that one of the heads has a tiny crack. Given what I have put into it already, and the fact that the rest of it is in really good shape, I may pay a shop to do the heads. But that's another thread.

Anyways, just saying howdy! Looking forward to learning more from all the great folks on here. Seems like a lot of cool rigs out there!
