Gas springs for your hood who has done it?

Saw a picture of a Tacoma don't remember where, and noticed that they had gas springs installed to the hood. Have any of you fine folks done this?

No it won't. That dealer was just a dick. It will depend on how your individual dealership handles it. I'm cool with mine, already asked them and they said no way will it be voided.

But, if you have the plagued hood separation, best to document it BEFORE installing the struts.

Gas struts are a waste of money IMO.

 

Wait until it's lifted with some 35's. Lining up that bent prop on your tiptoes is going to get old real quick.

Most of my vehicles have had them and I think the Tacoma should. It's on my to do list.

 

Not sure why it is needed unless your short or older with back problems. Anyhoo - cool idea.

Same reason we want auto windows and door locks. Sure manually rolling windows up/down is easy, same with manually locking/unlocking the doors, but the automatic ones just make it easier. Hood struts aren't needed, but man it's nice to just pop the hood latch and the hood just lifts itself. Shutting it is just as easy.
