I think you're backwards. If you had a Plus offset, you wheel would sit inside the wheel well vs pushed out causing the tire to be closer to the upper arm. IMG_1155.jpg

NO!!! I know what I'm talking about, please stop telling me I'm wrong... The factory wheels are 7 inches, these are 8, In order to compensate for the wider wheel, they need to be brought closer to the control arm. I still have PLENTY of clearance from the control arm. They are 5mm further inset than the factory wheels and extend and extra 21mm, THATS IT.

Long story short you gotta do what makes you happy. With larger tires its going to rub somewhere to some degree. You just have to ask yourself if 1) does it rub enough to bug you, 2) do you care about cutting or bending some plastic, 3) do you really need bigger tires for what youre trying to do. I do realize on a new truck cutting and grinding is a hard thing to do so I don't think anyone would fault you for sticking to stock. There's no real good answer and hitting the sweet spot of tire to wheel is going to be different from set up to set up, bust based on stock rim with a 285/75R16 you should just have a little rubbing on some plastic and maybe a touch in reverse on the cab mount.

    Maybe a 265/75R16 or 285/70/R16 is a better deal

Ya you should be able to pick up either for a few $100. I've had multiple sets of both the BFG ATs and MTs. Have had great luck with both types. I'd say stay away from the MTs unless you know you'll be off roading quite a bit. They are great on the trail and snow but are loud AF on the highway. So if you plan on being a mall crawler go with the ATs.

I like the aggressive look of M/Ts. What do you mean few $100s? you mean each of course! the Toyo M/T and Nitto Trail Grappler in that size are like $250-60 each.
    Thanks

Ya man. I mean if you can get a full set for a few $100 please tell me where! Ya $250-280 all day long. The MTs are good man. I got almost 80k on a set. Was driving a lot of dirt tho. Had a buddy that swore by the Toyos too. You would be in good shape no matter what you chose. A little cutting on the 285s would be required but not much and with the right offset wheels you shouldn't have to worry about rubbing the UCAs.

Pricey... But by far the best on the market. There's ones half the price that look the same, just a little smaller. They're called the squadrons. Half the light out put... But still ridiculously bright

Yea but I am going to use the stock rims of trd pro. Will 99% drive city. It will be for look only. Do you think they will wear off fast in that condition?

Really it comes down to how you drive/if its aligned properly, etc.... I've gotten a lot of miles on both the MTs and ATs. The trucks are my daily driver so most miles are on the streets and they did fine. Nice long life on all the tires with zero problems. Just keep up with the alignments and tire rotations and you'll be in good shape. I'm currently ordering a new set of 285/75R16s for my pro and have had 285/70R17s on my other taco for over a decade. Love them!

285 is 2cm wider than 265 so from each side 1ck. it might rub on upper control arm. one might need spacer, which I am not willing to do due to safety.
