Yep. There's a chance the TSB won't completely fix the noise though, unless if they updated the parts, so don't feel too bad.

There has been some reports of the "Clevis" breaking and causing the pedal to collapse. Highly recommend trying to grease it. There's a bunch of threads if you search for "clutch pedal creak"

My poor 2009 TRD off-road... :sadviolin: I think it has fallen to every TSB there is, besides the rusty frame. I haven't done a thing with it yet because I simply don't trust my "local" Toyota dealer, which I have to drive 2 hours to get to. I am the original owner and most of these issues started in the truck well before it hit 36k miles. I'm now in my 9th year of ownership and believe I have a little time left in my extended warranty. That warranty already denied my attempt to help pay for the throwout bearing. So it wouldn't surprise me if it'd be like pulling teeth for Toyota or the warranty to help with anything.

I tried this today, also with lithium grease. Just two little squirts while I lifted the plastic pedal very slightly hoping to make room for grease to get in there. Seemed to have made a noticeable difference in smoothness so guess i hit the spot. I had the TSB done by the way but creaking came back.

I WD-40'd mine a couple of months back and that took care of it. It was a pain to get to and required a little more contortion than my 52 year old body cared for but it did the trick.

I use the WD-40 with the Blu-Torque (not sure on the exact spelling) stuff. It has 'fixed' a handful of things for me that regular WD wouldn't.

My dealer greased a point on my clutch pedal and tried to charge me for it. When the creak comes back I'll be showing them this TSB.

I had the TSB and the squeak came back. I greased it, but it's only good for few months.

I've found the best grease to use in the pocket on the back of the pedal is MP bearing grease, the same stuff (usually colored red) GM, Chrysler and Ford use to repack wheel bearings. It tends to "stay put" better then other greases. Of course I just obtained this vehicle and it had the TSB repairs done, but the creak/squeak came back.
We'll see how long this lasts.

I have two additional data points: one for TSB and one for possible "solutions"...

TSB: Called three local dealers and two couldn't find any reference to the TSB even w/ VIN and TSB # provided (South Bay San Francisco) and the one that did find it said they wouldn't fix except while in warranty. I'm well beyond warranty. Parts alone were nearly 1k.

Solution: This allow applies to the plastic housing to which the metal pin from the pedal runs. I identified this as the source of the squeak by putting one hand on various stress points and pushing the pedal with the other hand and feeling for vibration. Previously I've tried wet graphite spray, lithium grease, dry graphite powder, and (yes, really) motorcycle chain lube sprayed into the plastic housing / on the metal pin. The only thing which has helped much beyond a day or two was a brew of lithium grease and dry graphite. That lasted for about a week. I just cleaned out the lithium grease and pumped about 3/4 of a tube of new dry graphite in there. It stopped the squeek right from the first pump of the pedal but I have my doubts as to how long this will last.

What the heck could one do to get them to extend the recall from '12 through '14? FWIW, my father did injection molding stuff for many years and he says this is all because Toyota designed the plastic bits without taking into account that the moldings will absorb moisture over time and thus expand. Seems a reasonable diagnosis but who knows..

Can anyone pin point the location to grease? Dealer did it for me and lasted for about 2 to 3 months....I don't know where.. nrvale0, I don't think the spot you think is the right spot since it's only good for a day or two as you said...can you take pictures? I want to grease my pedal area again... it's annoying the creak.

If you can get yourself some the red MP grease (aka, wheel bearing grease), put some in a food syringe (the kind they sell for injecting turkeys with marinade), get under the dash and find the plastic piece wrapped around the pivot point (shaft in the top of the bracket), it's a white piece. Then get some grease between the shaft and the plastic, you may have to work the pedal up and down to get the best results. I removed the master cylinder shaft when I did this, makes the pedal easier to move. Just make sure you set the freeplay correctly when reinstalling the master cylinder shaft. Sorry, no pics.

@imom , don't know if I can get a picture of the piece which has making such a racket because its so tight in there but I will try. That said, even with the lithium and the graphite it started to come back after a few days. I gave the shaft a quarter turn and another shot of graphite and it has been dead silent since. I think perhaps it wears into a state where it squeeks and I'm hoping that rotating the shaft *and* the lube will keep it from wearing back into that state.

If I can get a pic I'll post soon...

yah, I'm short and stocky and I just about cant hardly get to it without removing the driver's seat, I did finally get to it and took a small pair of vicegrip pliers and tightened up the rod and the squeak has been gone for over a year now.

Thanks for all that posted and providing more information.. bluezzy... I doubt you want to go under the dash again and point to where you did the tightening... the issue is that in your head...you know what part you are describing, but as someone who don't have that image in their head...hard to understand what part to tighten. Maybe if anyone can do a hand drawing and say...this location do this...would go a long way to seeing if this fix would help me.

Last time I was under the dash...I grease several places, but none of it helped...the dealer... it worked for several months...I don't mind doing that...if I knew exactly where...and yeah it is a pain being contorted trying to figure out...so more information would be appreciate and thank you again for all that posted.

I also had trouble twisting myself into place under the dash to grease the clutch. It's a lot easier if you bring out a couple of chairs that are about the height of the floorboard. Line 'em up and you can lay your butt and legs on them and stick your head and shoulders under the dash. Still tight but much easier.

I greased the crap of that area before and again today...no difference. I also spent another 20 minutes and grease all over...no difference. I think the squeak is coming from the bolt where the clutch pedal pivots. I didn't want to try to remove it in case it pops out of place with the spring and have the truck not running. I haven't ever removed clutch pedal before so I didn't want to risk it without seeing how it's done first. I would bet money that the squeak is in that bolt/axle.
