Yo... Ima guy who just bought a 2005 Tacoma. I had a 2005 Ram 1500 4x4 until 2014 when I sold it and bought my dads 2007 300c off him. After driving the sedan for 2 years, I had to get back to 4x4. I would love to have a full aize truck but it doesn't suite my needs. So I am stoked to say I made the switch from "mopar" to a Tacoma.

So from here I have a 1 owner 2005 Taco SR5 4x4 double dab short bed with 85k miles. Looking to keep it mostly stock for resale value in a year.

My question is what is the best shocks for a stock stance? ..need some advice here..

This topic interest me as well.

Previous Tacoma was extended cab SR5. It had the cheapest monroe shocks I could find. It rode awesome for a max of 25k. Free replacement, no big deal.

Present Tacoma extended cab TRD with Bilsteins all around. It rides like shit. I just replaced them and can't wait for them to go south. I will be putting the cheapies on next time. I'm sure I can talk the parts counter guy into giving me the less expensive versions.

How often do you go off road? And is this TRD your daily as well?

I will definitely be off roading once a weed as well as daily city driving here in Phoenix. Sounds like monroe maybe worth checking out for the price.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    I'd suggest calling Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road.

While their specialty is lifting and such, I bet they support regular maintenance items as well.

And if they don't, she may well know what is needed.

One thought. It's likely the same OE shocks were used through '15. You might look for low mile take offs from a '14 or '15 that is being modded by someone. If you figure out what that is, post in the WTB/For Sale section here.
