My 2010 Tacoma antenna got snapped off antenna even with bezel, I tried drilling it with reverse drill bit but I really buggered it bad and ruined it. I tried to take bezel nut off with a needle nose pliers (the nut requires some special spanner type wrench or socket) but it's on very tight. I might just use a vice grip to take it off. Is there a easier way to do this?
The factory replacement is quite pricey, what would be a good replacement for it. I don't mind the factory size mast, but was thinking about a retractable mast you push in the fender. I really don't care for the short rubber type because I want good reception while I'm on the road. I mostly listen to fm and am, no serius satellite radio.
    Thanks, Stan

Stan, As you perhaps already know there are a ton of replacement antennas available for reasonable prices. Suggest you may consider Hirschmann Telescopic AM FM Chrome Radio Antenna (typically found on PORSCHE 356, 911, 912) it has a retractable mast and should work on a Tacoma, price less than $40. There are others, name brand and generic from ebay, Amazon, Crutchfield, etc not to mention your local stores, Auto Zone, Walmart, etc. Once you get the old antenna off, the install of the new one should be straight forward. Good luck with the replacement.

I snapped mine in a car wash. Replaced it with a shorter model as I am in the woods a lot and the original tall antenna gets thrashed. Cost was $20. I would search on http://antennax.com
