I am getting my Avid Front Bumper Guard in on Friday. I am at a crossroads at deciding what paint to use. I want it to be durable and smooth, but not too thick. Please help thanks. :mudding:

If you just use spray paint, you'll be doing it over a couple of times each year.

I'm fine with that. Going to college soon so I won't be doing anything hard on her, I just need a quality paint to use:rofl::mudding:

    Anyone seen my wallet?
I used self etching primer then krylon dual satin black primer+paint. I wanted a smooth finished as well instead of textured, to match my PCed rear bumper. Wheeled once and its held up fine. People use my sliders as steps all the time, cringed at first but foot prints wipe off, no chips or scratches yet. Whatever you do, prep well.

Definitely go with a self etching primer. Make sure you clean the bare metal really well before painting with the primer. If you use water to clean, go over it with a quick drying solvent like alcohol or acetone. You want to remove any grease (even finger grease) and moisture before painting. Once you have the etching primer on there you can top coat with pretty much anything.

Rust-Oleum automotive enamel. 2 coats of black, then 1 coat of clear. The clear coat protects the black and it will hold up longer.

VHT paints from the parts store. They have a roll bar/chassis paint and an epoxy paint. Both are self priming. You won't be disappointed with either. MUCH better than an enamel paint.
