I've always wanted one of these, hatchback only, I don't like the new sedans.

Great cars, and yes the hatchback is the way to go. It's still a pretty small car though, 4 adults is semi-comfortable, and any more feels like leaving a party in college. My wife wants a minivan to replace it, and to be honest I'm totally down for that. Minivans are so versatile for daily life, beating out my Tacoma in most areas, and I'm not trying to score any strange at this point. Yea, I've reached that point in my life and it's awesome!

@smitty99 only slightly bored! Ready for that OV tune for sure. Alright guys I've been thinking. I'm gonna stick with the truck. Pay more on it with the money I'm not spending on student loans. Pay it off. Look for a house vs an apartment. Try and get a higher paying job at my company. Maybe buy a cheap sporty car to satisfy my need for something fun after the truck gets paid off. Sound like a good plan?

    Mike Rowe fan? Me too.

And while some millennials truly have some different values, some of them are just spoiled brats that think everyone owes them whatever. Which has as much to do with parenting (or lack thereof) as just the attitude of a generation.

When the world as they've come to know it (in America and other 1st world countries) begins to crumble around them, it will be interesting to see how they react.

Will they be safe place crybabies that we see on some campuses today, or will they suck it up, become leaders who can be respected and actually influence positive change?

This sort of thinking really bothers me. Every generation judges the up and coming generation and says the same things. The WWII generation had nothing good to say about the baby boomers in the 60-70s, the baby boomers have nothing good to say about gen X or millennials. Look, we'll figure it out just as you did (or didn't in my opinion). From my experience we all get more crotchety in our old age and less and less tolerant of others with different life experiences. Instead of attacking an entire generation, try reflecting back on when you were young and your parents thought you didn't know anything about anything. Remember, we will be taking care of your old crotchety self when you need it most, so best not to alienate an entire generation you probably know little about.

If society truly crumbles I would like to think we would all have bigger fish to fry then whether or not the millennials can hack it. People are resilient.

Ive gotten 3 speeding tickets in my 4cyl basic looking chevy s10. traded that for a 2002 Camaro z28, modded the shit out of it and was putting down around 450hp at the wheels. It was Sunset Orange. Never got a speeding ticket and Ive been needle buried at 155 and it was still accelerating for a solid 30seconds past that....

I have a chemistry degree too. I work as a chemist for a pharmaceuticals company here in West Virginia. Great company to work for that gives out great bonuses.

OP, do what makes you happy. Life is short. If the WRX will give you more happiness and joy get it but if you know will be just as happy with the taco despite its drawbacks keep it as it is a more practical car.

I'm 24 and I'm not originally from WV I am from Atlanta. I'm moved here because it was the highest salary I was offered out of school started at $55k a year two years ago and currently at $60k.

Like you I am not sure I want to buy a house here and would like to relocate back to Georgia if I get a job offer making the same or more than what I am making now. I am giving myself until I am 30 to decide if I stay in WV or get a new job back in Georgia and buy a house there. I have 28k saved up now and by time I am 30 my goal is to have 100k+ saved and buy a small modest house cash.

I am paying $675 on rent on my 2 bedroom duplex so yes I am throwing away 8k in rent but I am not sure if I want to live here long term so waiting until 30 to buy a house is not a bad deal for me.

Congrats paying off your student loans quickly. Wish you the best and support the decision to trade for the WRX if you will make you happier.

    .

Just my thoughts and opinions ...

Keep your truck ... you are trying to rationalize to jump from the frying pan (Tacoma) into the fire (WRX). .... You want the "small, quick car" a lot I think.

Toooooo may miles on WRX and non-warranty problems could really se you back $$$.

Make extra money to pay for Tacoma ... its your best bet for your future.

If you want to play ... get the WRX ... but be prepared to pay more in the end.

You're out of your element and go back to your quick car. People need trucks to do shit for their work, homes, and families. You need a bed and capabilities to take your life into the future. My opinion do your thing.
