My VIN check does not show the recall listed. Says "There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle".

    It's a '17 TRD OR DCSB V6 AT

The 2nd page of the recall was posted up on the Stop Sale post, on it shows a flow chart.

First step is to check out the Vin, it looks that not all are affected.

Just got word from Toyota, recall procedure starts with inspection. If no signs of leakage your truck will be cleared, if sign of leakage then a remedy will be executed.

I wonder how they calculate the 1%. Do they know who were slacking off on the diffs during production? Just not sure how that just throw a number out there unless they checked all 200K+ vehicles.

From looking at who has said their truck is not the list, this issue may not affect the TRD OR models. I have only seen people with SR5 and SR say they are on the list. But it could be too soon to tell.

I know that where I work, all torque wrenches are serialized and I can pull up paperwork to find out which assemblies that tool was used. Also the guy using the tool has to initial a work traveler to show accountability.

I assume that Toyota does this and its more of an automated process, barcode, RFIC, etc...

I am impressed that Toyota is addressing this in a timely manner. Might be defective seals/gasket or whatever.

My Ranger had a faulty designed oil pan gasket and Ford knew about it yet did nothing. You were on your own and replacing the gasket required lifting the engine! Not a small job. Ford redesigned the gasket with a lip or something to prevent the known problem from happening once you got the old one replaced. They thought they could do it quietly while sticking it to the owner to cover the repair.

Ford has to realize that it's consumers knowing crap like that will drive someone away from buying a Ford in the future. Customers are more knowledgeable nowadays and have many research tools to find things out.

Good for Toyota for taking the bull by the horns on this issue. I don't see other car companies moving on issues this quickly.
