Maybe they are getting their 1% figure (228,000) from worldwide sales to include the Hilux? Just a WAG. o_O

My 2017 SR5 4X4 that I bought in late august is on the list.

On an unrelated note, my dealership lets me text a number that goes straight to my assigned service tech and he texted back within 20 minutes with my answer. Kinda nice feature.

Mine is on the recall list -- '17 TRD Sport DC LB AT 4x4, Mexico, delivered March 17, 2017 in Seattle. Called the dealership and spoke with service rep. He's checking with parts and the service manager on the process, as I'm the first affected at this dealership (Toyota of Lake City).

Service scheduled. Dealer was confused and then said "oh wow, you're right"

So the stop sale letter says recalls will be sent out in July. Will dealers have the correct parts now to fix the truck, or are you getting the wrong parts at this point?

My dealer let me schedule the recall. Past experiences if the recall parts were not available, they wouldn't allow it to be scheduled yet.

1% of 228,000 is only 2,280 trucks. I remember my SR5 configuration was was less than 1% of the 2016 trucks, according to the leaked documents that listed the 2016 production breakdowns.

Why not just say "affects SR and SR5 models only"?

I'm glad Toyota is on this though with seemingly full disclosure. It must have taken some effort to pin the problem down.

I thought of that issue as well since it's well documented on TW.

I'm willing to bet that by July the recalled VIN# could expand to more vehicles. It seems like the Takata airbag recall kept expanding and people had to search VIN#'s more than once at different times.

So far myself, and one other person have mentioned that their Sports are on the recall. So it's broader than just the SR and SR5. One person mentioned wondering if it is a difference between the 8" and 8.8" rear diff, I would lean on that being a strong possibility. Wonder if the Limited and the Sport, SR/SR5 have the same diff?

    Any Limited's on the recall?

I mentioned it but deleted it since i wasn't quite sure. From what I did find, but not 100% sure.

Off Roads have 8.75" diff, also the Manual transmission has the 8.75" diff. All others have the 8".

You would think that there is another variable as 1% have the 8", that doesn't sound right.
