    Umm It was called a cover when I joined the AF just saying 0h and we had Chuck Norris too :} LOL To be honest it was a ball cap then as we wore solid greens as a utility uniform then , switched to BDU's later . Oh one thing the AF does better or at least has a valid reason for the sleeve roll :}

    I remember last year at a dirt track race and when the National Anthem being played . I removed my cover and a guy next row down from me still had his "hat " on . I yelled at him
    , Saying remove your cover ,he looked at me strange . Then I said your hat dumbass and he then removed it

    Ok. This getting older thing is not too bad. But, not always good. I don't mind going bald, or something new hurting everyday

    Well I can still recall a very short but to the point speech by Tsgt Haydens (Sp)(Nicknamed Hurricane Haydens) YOU HAVE NOW BEEN ISSUED YOUR UNIFORMS. YOU WILL WEAR THEM PROPERLY BUTTONED ,TUCKED,ALIGNED . YOU WILL REMOVE YOUR COVER WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING OR YOU WILL NOT LIKE WHAT I COME UP WITH TO TRAIN YOU TO DO SO! .. TAKE THEM OFF YOUR DAMN HEADS NOW IDIOTS!! Yes it was yelled I am pretty sure the guys in the front ranks were slightly deaf after that speech since it was in a small room and he made sure to move from one side to the other of the rank :}LOL Hey he said be in full uniform in the briefing room in 5 minutes completely dressed in your uniforms yes he yelled that too lol

    We had a replacement assistant TI after ours got chunked from being a TI because he shoved a recruit out of the way running up the stairs to call for an ambulance after another recruit had fallen out at PT. Apparently the one who got shoved whined to someone high enough .. Anyhow we got Ssgt Sarmeanto (SP) Not sure of his nationality but he was fairly famous for "Put your Tums along your Ties" lol ie stand attention and put your thumbs along your thighs lol. We also had a very nice looking reservist come in for a weekend man we didn't care how far we marched lol her uniform fit well and she had a nice southern accent to her voice lol

    I'm worried about the TCE / PCE chemical exposure at MCAS El Toro and involves all Military personnel at that air base from 1945 - 1999 . I was there from 1981-84 and I used or came into contact with those chemicals on a daily basis

    Do yourself a favor just get enrolled and such now with the VA hopefully nothing comes of it , if it does your way ahead of the game if they already have you in the system your records etc. Far to many horror stories of guys "waiting to see what happens" and then going in and it takes to long to get them help and or treatment. I waited 4 years after getting out to do anything and it has been an uphill battle ever since.
