    Good question.

There is a lot of energy in corn, energy that can be converted to matter. I'm assuming that the total number of calories required to nourish a person in a year is the same as the number of calories in 8 bushels of corn.

I suppose you could feed the 8 bushels of corn to a bunch of chickens that a person could then eat.

I don't think ~22 gallons or even 10,000 gallons of ethanol could nourish me for a year lol. I eat so many chickens, cows, fish, etc...i call b.s. on the table. I can't imagine 22 gallons of gas powering my a/c unit for a mild summer week alone...

If I remember correctly there are 56# of corn kernels in a bushel so ~448# of corn may just last you a year. Especially if you were to either choke to death by accident or deliberately because all you have to eat is corn...

This is a car forum. We should be for anything good for auto. Ethanol is magic juice. Can't we all just get along.

If you eat enough of that corn, you can start producing your own Natural Gas. Then all you have to do is compress it to 3600 psi.

I dont think people realise how much water it really takes. We have a good amount of land here that backs up to a river and every year when they start irrigating it goes dry. To the point every year we make plans to go 4wheeling on the sand it leaves

That is the thing people never having lived out in the Mountain West have no idea about Water rights .

Snow Pack would mean the depth of snow on the ski area nothing to do with water

Here if you plan to irrigate it comes out of your well !! I only see produce getting irrigated maybe Sweet Corn I don`t know anyone irrigating Field Corn pretty much hit or miss with the weather

The Rio Grande is dry by the time it reaches the Gulf most of the time now. Cantaloupes/Grapefruit/Oranges use a LOT of water too.

I've heard it's unreal what it takes to grow 1 almond.
