I'm a big fan of the guys at Custom Truck Shop in San Dimas.

Really awesome people to work with and generally well priced. I think they are too expensive for some things but they'll give you a quote before you show up.

My truck got hit 2 months ago, a tow truck came and took me to the closet shop. I initially didn't think anything of it but after dealing with this shop for over 2 months and having an adjuster from my insurance come to the shop 4 times now to see what is wrong and order new parts, I really regret not taking it to someone reputable that deals with trucks. I don't even have anything extreme that they shouldn't know how to fix, just king 2.5s on front and back and T.C uca's. Insurance approved new TC ucas and after the shop got their $900 for them they ended up telling me I wouldn't need them and they weren't actually damaged. So I said order them just to be sure cause if it doesn't align properly I want them on the truck. They also said my right front shock was damaged and wouldn't be able to go back on the truck but later they end up just putting it on and the truck drives like shit now. They got it aligned the truck and I don't even know how it's possible they gave it back to me the way it was. If anyone with half a brain drove my truck they would know how fucked up it is. Something is also wrong with my steering now but that's another story. In short it feels like I have no power steering yet the power steering fluid is full. I took it back to an alignment shop and they said my back wheels are way out of line and it's because my leaf springs on the right side are pushed like 2 inches forward. I have no idea how the leafs got moved, I got hit in the front of the truck. Sorry that was all over the place, I'm just really rattled about it and I kept remembering shit that was wrong with the truck lol. But my king shock up front has a hole punched in the top ring above the coil-over. I will post pics of it tomorrow when I get off school.

I've done autobody for a little while and it sounds like the shop your truck was towed to (per insurance) did what they could to make a buck. Unfortunately most autobody shops pay their tech's commission so either they do it really quick or take their time and then do it really really quick because they slacked off. When something comes in that is really damaged, most of the time they sit on it for a while to get the parts to build it and of course wait for the insurance to pay for the parts. Again, insurance are cheap asses and will wait for the part to show up under the lowest cost. Honestly I finally know why Autobody is a 3rd party repair majority of the time... Insurance doesn't get rich paying high dollar for your parts.

My advice to you... Find a auto body place that does restoration on damaged vehicles. They usually have a frame machine to tell whether or not your truck is within spec. When it isn't, they don't charge nearly as much as it would cost at an Autobody shop. Once you get that figured out, they will most likely help solve and or give you a reference to somebody that does good work. The hard part for you is to deal with your insurance to pay for the headache and lack of work done by said shop before. If you're lucky they will cover costs (which are a fraction to what they paid before) and the so called shop will be removed from their database.
