    Ugh a dayshifter...

Must be nice strolling in 15-30 minutes after 7 every fn day because there's "traffic" that's beyond predictable and yet still signing in for 0700 and expecting relief to be there by 1500 and leave before putting in a true 8.

Sorry, not meant toward you; just venting...

Haha i promised 3rds id never be that person. I leave 50 minutes before my shift starts for a 30min drive. So worse comes to worse ill be there right at 7 unless there's gridlock/highway shut down.

The guy on 1st is good about being early too, but the other chick is definitely as you describe. 2nds dont mind if i pack my shit up to leave right at 3 because they know i show up early, and have been letting them leave 15min early almost everynight since ive been working here.

But you can ugh at me, it's alright. Ill burn in the sun for my penance of going to day shift.

I'll continue taking my vitamin c, d, and e supplements to make up for lack of sunlight. Luckily I'm not as pale as my recessive side of my heritage depicts so a weekend day doing yard work in the sun gives me a nice base. My gingy wife and son on the other hand slather on the spf 50+

We are allowed to punch out and leave 7 min. before the end of shift, 7:23 for 7:30, 11:23 for 11:30, and 3:23 for 3:30. I usually stay to 7:30 anyway, but some days 7:23 and I'm gone!

We have a 6 minute grace period on either side here. Luckily all our problem people with showing up on time are on the front half of the week so I don't have to deal with it much.

    Ditto.

I got a good relief group. I never worry about getting the 5 o'clock call letting me know I need to report to work in 90 minutes.

If any of us are sick, we truly are sick and know about it the day before.

ive got a lovley 2 minute period, and you have to show up in the parking lot minimum 30 minutes before your shift starts, as the shuttle might take 5 minutes, or might take 25... just kinda depends on how they feel that day, schedule be damned. it means some people are leaving their house 2 hours ahead of thier shift for a 1 hour commute, since you automatically get written up if your late, period.

My shift change is 6:00 A or P. I get to work at or before 5:30 and I luckily have reliefs that do the same for me. It really sucks for us when a relief doesn't come in until 5:55 and a run drops at 5:50 that keeps you there till nearly 7 or later, sure we get paid for the extra time but if you had plans for when you get off they are pretty much done. There are a few guys, not at my station, that refuse to come early. These guys will drive around the block until 5:59 before they pull in the lot and still have to get in uniform.

Damn. That's pretty stringent. I understand trying to make sure people are on time, but there's gotta be some wiggle room with that many variables.
