It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Wow. I get more and more dissapointed I went with Icons every day. For those that had problems with their rears due to clearance with the shock mounts, how did Icon treat you? Did they warranty it and cover shipping? I need to have at least my rears re-built.

Has anyone contacted one of the handful of dealers for service costs? Icon's website made it seem like they will be setting their own prices...

This is a warranty claim and they will do that. I just received one of mine back for exactly the same issue. My understanding is that they just don't want to do "normal" service, leaving that to their vendors.

They covered return shipping. Not shipping to them.

I only sent in one shock as my other seems to be fine.

Well that's good at least. I was hoping to have all mine done though, guess I will need to send them to different places and call every dealer for quotes.

If they're under warranty, send them both to ICON.

Anyone else find it poor practice to make the customer cover shipping to the manufacturer for a warranty issue?

^Standard practice for most auto parts, esp for longer or lifetime warranties.

I wouldn't send them to icon anyway. Learn to do it yourself and get to know your vehicle better or give DSM a call, they are always happy to help and are very reasonable on their prices.
