How do you like the windoors on your LEER? I am considering the same but have read some reviews stating problem leaking with the windoors. How have yours performed? Thanks.

I plan on mounting a hoist on my garage ceiling for shell removal, then build a cart to wheel it out of the way when it's not on the truck.

Do you feel that the Yakima tracks/tower attachment is strong enough to hold the shell (mine is a cab-high 'glass ARE, only 5' long, maybe 175 lbs)? I didn't quite have the guts to do it this way, so I lever up one end of the shell at a time and put a 2x4 under it, spanning the bed, one at each end, and then hoist to the ceiling joists. But just hooking it to the Yak rails would be much faster, and of course I'd still add straps and boards below for added safety once I have it lifted off, and get the truck out of the way. I've removed it my way a few times single-handedly, but reinstallation is really a two-person (or more) job to get it lined up and not scratch the truck or mess up the seal.

There's only 3 small bolts that hold the tracks to the shell, so I wouldn't ever lift from the racks.

A board underneath the shell rails is a way better way to do that. There's little strength in the Yakima setup when used as a lifting point.

@Rosewood ive never had any problems with the windows leaking and have camped in everything from rain, ice, sleet and snow. I did shatter a side window a year ago and got it replaced at the dealer, it was covered by my truck insurance luckily. No problems after either. Have a removable front slider as well. I would buy another without hesitation.

You might look at an aluminum one for single person removal/install. They are a bit lighter though not as pretty. I'm starting to like them as they look utilitarian.
